# Pastebin x1JJDFuz 12:00 PM <~barredowl> alright, then. so, y'all, first impressions? 12:01 PM <~barredowl> i gotta say, i quite like the premise of this; it feels delightfully sinister. though i do think there could be some exploration of this particular anomaly, i think this was enough for me to be confident upvoting this. 12:01 PM <~barredowl> well, at least, now 12:01 PM I hadn't understand. 12:02 PM The Carroll thing was understandable, but not this one, for me. 12:02 PM <+cybersqyd> Yeah, I'm not as big a fan of this one 12:03 PM <+cybersqyd> it feels...rushed narratively 12:03 PM The story structure of this changes what it wants to be a few times. There are paragraphs in this which talk about the history of this object, but then at the climax it switches to a more Thaumiel-y "How we use this in containment" style ending with a hint of a larger story with the final paragraph. 12:03 PM <~barredowl> i think that's my position, i think 12:03 PM cybersqyd: Yeah, the ending especially was rushed. 12:03 PM <~barredowl> yeah, in that regard this does need some expanding on. 12:03 PM <+cybersqyd> I'm not really a fan of the section in the middle where it gains a set of extra anomalous properties 12:04 PM <~barredowl> yeah, the properties of 4256 and 4256-1 don't gel that well together. 12:04 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah 12:05 PM I like this as a concept and the elements of this anomaly's effects being used for each group's purpose. The story is what's making me hesitate from saying updoot cause as you all said it does feel a bit rushed. I do like how the ASCI and the UIU was utilised to capture everyone from the spirit and how each group used this but then it shifted to another thing so... yeah 12:05 PM <~barredowl> i feel like they should have taken either one of them and ran forward with a story using them. 12:05 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah 12:05 PM MalycePhones → Malycegraves 12:05 PM I think I don't even figure what the anomalous effects of this one are, in fact. 12:05 PM Malycegraves → MalycePhones 12:05 PM Pighead: What's confusing you? 12:06 PM <~barredowl> like, converting some conceptual energy into actual energy? that's a pretty cool idea 12:06 PM <~barredowl> and here it could be ran with 12:06 PM I would've liked to see a little more expansion with the -1 instances and a lot less history with the thing. That way, this article could go into comedy or just rely on the uniqueness of the concept as a whole. But with the way this went, it's just very dry and boring. 12:06 PM <~barredowl> but they... didn't unfortunately 12:06 PM I mean, I know that it affects somthing related to anti-establishment desires and behaviors. 12:07 PM But it's the only thing I understand about the anomalous effects of this one. 12:07 PM <~barredowl> mm, yeah 12:08 PM <~barredowl> i think this is fairly undeveloped, unfortunately, which is a shame given this is an idea wrought with potential 12:08 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah 12:09 PM Pighead: As I understood it, anything which resembles paper can be put into this machine and it's turned into special paper. This special paper can then be wrapped around an object, and that object will be turned into a 2D image of that object. If this affects a living creature like, say, a dog, then that creature will still be alive but will most likely die. Through some weird mechanism, the objects stored in the 12:09 PM special paper can also be retrieved, and the Chicago Spirit was using this to transport illegal goods. 12:09 PM I feel like if they had focused on the anti-establishment/suppressing the users will to speak ill of authority (like what J. Edgar Hoover was doing) then I feel like this would have shined on more fancy 12:09 PM <~barredowl> unfortunately, i don't have a lot to say about this one either. i like the concept, and think it could be expanded, but it just isn't. 12:09 PM <~barredowl> oop 12:09 PM ~barredowl set the topic: welcome to the gunshow, everyone | scheduled meetings every Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday, 2:00 PM EST | the super secret extra-confidential SCP book club | Schedule: http://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com/collab:raisa-review-team | DISCUSSIONS WILL BE LOGGED. | This week's topic: Collab-Con 12:09 PM <~barredowl> haven't changed that in a while lol 12:11 PM <~barredowl> so, anyone have any concluding thoughts before we wrap this one up? 12:11 PM OK, so it's just a "Paper Mario" curse. It looks like that, in... paper. Lol. 12:11 PM This feels like a box of sand, with a lot of very dull and sometimes interesting points that it could expand on, but it doesn't. There's weird lines in here like how Chappell used it to cover up a gay love affair which don't serve any purpose, there's very little tie-in between the various anomalous effects and the story as a whole, and the ending paragraph is just a complete mess. It changes it from a fairly small tool 12:11 PM to something which has continental capabilities. It's completely out of left field and doesn't further the story in any way besides just being weird. 12:12 PM ⇐ BusyEmbrace quit (uid435092@synIRC-8B93F944.charlton.irccloud.com) 12:12 PM I'm gonna lightly downvote due to the fact it was all over the place with it's narratives. Had it focused on one narrative, I'd updoot but for now, downvote 12:13 PM <~barredowl> yeah, me too. 12:13 PM <~barredowl> kinda exhausted all my points really. 12:14 PM I feel like a novote with a down ascendant on this thing. 12:14 PM This is a heavy, heavy downvote form me. 12:14 PM Not understandable at all and for what Red told me... it looks just like a 2.0 "Paper Mario" curse. 12:15 PM <~barredowl> anybody else? 12:16 PM <+cybersqyd> I'm a novote here I think 12:16 PM <+cybersqyd> There's a lot I kinda like; but the execution is a real stumbling block for me
