# Pastebin hMFQpIPV 11:16 AM <%red3> Alright, how about we begin? What were our thoughts on this article? 11:17 AM THIS is my favourite tale for obivious reasons of "O5 in mech suit versus hyped up anomalous beings" 11:17 AM I do think the suspense is done pretty well 11:17 AM Action's described really vividly, and the imagery is top notch 11:18 AM <%red3> I'm not entirely sure about the suspense, since the majority of this is just a fight scene. The action is very well-described and vivid, though. I will agree on that. 11:18 AM Er- not suspense; action tension, perhaps, would be a better descriptor 11:20 AM Oh and also that we see the more insane and dangerous mutants mindset. Like these ones aren't like the ones from Old Vegas/the previous tale 11:21 AM <%red3> That makes more sense. This continues the trend of this just being superheroes against the Foundation, which is what I worried this series would become. I slightly disagree with Blue in that I find the anomalies from the previous tale more interesting, but then that'd be arguing whether Armando is just a cooler superhero than that one floating guy with all the hands. 11:25 AM <%red3> I liked the changing scenes. It helped a lot with the tension and making sure that the story moved along. 11:25 AM It was some great progression, seeing each side determined to best the other while seeing it from each person's perspective. 11:26 AM I do feel like the scene changing was done pretty well, though this //does// suffer from X-men syndrome, sorta 11:27 AM I do agree in the trend being like "superheroes against the foundation," but I do feel like this piece leans so heavily in it, the action engrosses you so far to the point where it's fairly easy to ignore 11:27 AM Also can I state that "A turret was being chewed up by a Tyrannosaurus rex made of plasma." is possibly the most metal scene you can have in your head ever? :P I also agree with Oak that it is kinda easy to forget during this whole thing due to the action and tension 11:28 AM <%red3> Maybe. But the parts which aren't entirely action really annoyed me with how little it was taking the overall concept. This might be my personal taste, but I feel like a good action scene isn't enough to carry a chapter if everything else surrounding that scene is generic. 11:30 AM i do understand that; but given that the concept //is// sort of "superhuman rebellion," at one of its most basic levels, i think an action scene makes some narrative sense 11:32 AM <%red3> I guess so. Does anybody else have a thought on this that they wanted to share? I felt like the use of telling in some cases instead of showing really helped, especially in the beginning where tension has to be set up very quickly. 11:33 AM Oh yes. I reckon it answers some of the questions we had last time as well as showcase just how bad it is for the Foundation 11:36 AM <%red3> Hmm. Alright. How about we share out closing thoughts on this before we head into a quick break? 11:37 AM In short: I love this tale. It is simply just a great scene to imagine in your head. Science vs Magic, a match up that people always asks. +1 from me! 11:37 AM MalycePhones → MalyceGraves 11:37 AM <%red3> I liked this as a blunt, video game-esque fight scene where there's little tension and the entire thing rides on the entertaining ways the two sides fight each other, but the scenes around that fight scene are painfully generic, with every character spouting cheesy one-liners that take me out of the story more than it takes me in. This also extends to the fight scene itself in small ways, such as the "bad hair day" 11:37 AM <%red3> line. 11:38 AM <%red3> I think this'll be a novote, but I'm tempted to bring it to a light downvote.
