so i was trying to get one of my onboard fakeraid controllers(marvell) to show its raid 1 array in nix. im dual booting between windows 10 and kubuntu. it shows up fine in win 10 after i installed the driver for it. i made a reddit post about it here:

i use the raid mirror for storage/backups and plex and shit. so i really only need to replicate that functionality for the time being. i have a box all setup to run an OS from a 16gb flash drive and the two storage drives in raid 1. just need to decide what to use for the OS. have to take into account being a nix noob, especially in the networking department.
