# Pastebin TeXrRznL 11:16 AM Alright, that seems like long enough. How about we begin with our initial thoughts on the article? 11:17 AM Well, it's a good way to go on the series without being lost. 11:17 AM I do like the UIU being used as a cleanup crew for Night's activities 11:17 AM I thought it was pretty good. The pacing was nice and it didn't go on for too long. 11:18 AM I was not here at the last meeting, so obviously, I'm a little bit late. And reading an article who don't tell you "Hey, if you want to understand me, read the ones before that!" is a big satisfaction. 11:19 AM I do agree that this stands pretty independently from everything else, but in doing so, it sacrifices a lot of narrative tension and motivation by not explicitly showing the murders, but only showing the evidence that's left behind which, while attempting to be mysterious, reveals all of the mystery in a very obvious and generic style. 11:19 AM Yea, I agree. 11:20 AM The way Night acts makes me obviusly think about Jack the Ripper who were sending letters to police. 11:20 AM *obviously 11:20 AM The UIU file does leave a good impression on who or what Mr. Night is imo. (I think this was what lured me into loving the series actually) 11:22 AM I just don't feel engaged here. While I do definitely see the connections between Mr. Night and Jack the Ripper, the latter was leagues more mysterious since the police literally had no idea who or what Jack the Ripper was. He could've been a single person, a duo, an entire organization, the police had no idea. Whereas with Mr. Night, we know that it's just one guy that has some anomalous powers. 11:24 AM I see your point. But honestly, at my opinion, I don't feel that. It's a good introduction to the character and at this point, it's pretty much what I ask for. 11:26 AM This file shows how Night works and operates and how the UIU, at the time where they were very powerful, didn't even know he existed. Meaning that the UIU couldn't figure out how Night was able to do these murders and I find that fascinating 11:26 AM Right, but there should be a point where the introductions turn into actually story. This feels like it's just reintroducing the character over and over again. 11:31 AM There are sections in this that I really felt would've done better in a tale than in this drier format. The murders especially, since they're just told to the reader rather than shown. 11:31 AM The image of the skeleton of the guy, I admit that this don't look like a skeleton you find in the house. It's like they find it in a pyramid or a mine or something like that. 11:35 AM Well, they didn't exactly state where the guy was when they found him, so he could've just been in some random location. 11:35 AM It does strike a mysterious chord in the heads though, what happened to the guy? What did Night do? etc. 11:38 AM Does anyone else have any other thoughts on this article? 11:39 AM Nope! I had a good time reading this, so I'd upvote it 11:41 AM Hmm... I'm still of the opinion that this is too dry and empty for me to enjoy it, so I'll leave it at a downvote.
