Meet OpenStack Mogan, born to address bare metal provisioning in all its richness. Mogan for bare metal recognizes that the Nova design to handle VMs, bare metal in a unified manner is convoluted at best and forces users to execute additional steps. Nova from the get-go was focused only on virtual machines with several features specific only to VMs.

The Mogan API allows you to both provision bare metal and compose bare metal through integration with OpenStack Valence that leverages the Redfish API to compose nodes using disaggregated resources. We address workflow support for configuring RAID storage, bonding of network interfaces and more, before hand-off to Ironic.

In this talk we introduce the API, discuss the architecture, and share project status and our future roadmap. Currently we have more than 10 ATCs from 6 companies including Huawei, Intel, Fiberhome, AwCloud, China Mobile, and HFBank.
