Before GCI began, I looked briefly at each of the 14 organizations. There were no organizations that stuck out to me at the time, so I decided to wait until GCI started. The day before registration opened, I ran through the list again and looked at their homepages. The MetaBrainz Foundation’s website looked really clean and welcoming, and I felt my interest grow as I watched the carousel of open source projects whirl past. MusicBrainz especially stuck out to me, as I have been classically trained in violin and piano since a young age.
