{"body":"12:04 PM <~barredowl> alright, then. so, for real this time, first impressions?\r\n12:05 PM <~barredowl> i'm ultimately not too sure if this works for me, overall.\r\n12:05 PM <BlueJones> I did enjoy this but... something kinda felt off upon re-reading this and I'm not sure how\r\n12:05 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah i can see that\r\n12:05 PM <~barredowl> there's a lot going on, and while i did enjoy some of it, it felt a bit over-drawn.\r\n12:05 PM <+cybersqyd> it's enjoyable enough for me\r\n12:05 PM <%red3> I enjoyed this for what it was, but personally this doesn't fit my own sense of humor.\r\n12:05 PM <+cybersqyd> but it feels like it drags towards the back half\r\n12:06 PM <~barredowl> that's my thoughts.\r\n12:06 PM <+cybersqyd> the audio feels...unnecessary?\r\n12:06 PM <~barredowl> a little yeah\r\n12:06 PM <%red3> I actually enjoyed the audio quite a bit.\r\n12:06 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah it's not unenjoyable; it just...feels extraneous?\r\n12:07 PM <BlueJones> I feel like this is a lot of characters that Chandra used back when they did Dread and Circuses and some other minor groups. Which doesn't really spark that \"Oh these are some cool characters, lets read more on them.\" (Although an Anomalous Girl Scout GoI is very entertaining to consider)\r\n12:07 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah\r\n12:08 PM <~barredowl> i'm not too familiar with a lot of these, so this felt a bit too random for me at points.\r\n12:08 PM <+cybersqyd> mmm a little maybe yeah\r\n12:08 PM <~barredowl> lot of these characters, i mean\r\n12:08 PM <%red3> That's true. If the audio was cut off, this article would lose very little, but it was also my favorite part of the article. Everything else surprisingly felt a little one-note, with the joke being that dado is a capitalist. There were also a few portions like the hamster part which looked like it could be a setup for a joke, but it just never goes anywhere.\r\n12:09 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah\r\n12:09 PM <~barredowl> i think this is ultimately just my sense of humor not finding these things enjoyable? this reminded me a fair bit of 4498 and 5004 in their sense of humor, and from experience they just don't jive with me\r\n12:10 PM <+cybersqyd> scp-4498\r\n12:10 PM <@Secretary_Helen> cybersqyd: SCP-4498: The Plurality of Jack Bright (Rating: +331. Written 1 year ago By: djkaktus) - http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-4498\r\n12:10 PM <+cybersqyd> ah yeah\r\n12:10 PM <+cybersqyd> i can kinda see that\r\n12:10 PM <BlueJones> Again the one thing I loved about this shoe horn of characters was the Girl Scouts and them being anomalous is very entertaining. Other than that, it was a shoehorn for the sake of shoehorn. Also the use of  other anomalies means that I would have to go off of this, go read them up, then go back to this to see if the joke/their use was good. \r\n12:10 PM <+cybersqyd> it's not quite as over the top but it's that sort of style\r\n12:10 PM <~barredowl> indeed\r\n12:11 PM ⇐ Mew-ltiverse quit (uid372380@queenofthemew.ltiverse) Quit: Connection closed for inactivity\r\n12:11 PM <%red3> 4498 more than 5004, but I get that. And I kind of disagree with Blue's point, since I knew almost nothing about every anomaly which was mentioned here, but I still managed to enjoy it on a superficial level with the stunts that each one pulled.\r\n12:11 PM <~barredowl> mm, yeah.\r\n12:11 PM <~barredowl> i think individually, i thought the jokes were fun, but they were just so close to each other\r\n12:12 PM <+cybersqyd> see i can see that but i don't think it's necessarily a bad thing\r\n12:12 PM <%red3> This entertains me more than it makes me laugh. It's like watching a child trying to tell jokes and do stuff to make me laugh. I'm probably never going to, but the attempts still make me feel a little funny.\r\n12:12 PM <BlueJones> Hmmm a fair assumption. I agree with Owl's point of the jokes being good though just that there was no breather just one after the other\r\n12:12 PM <+cybersqyd> yeah\r\n12:12 PM <+cybersqyd> ^ me agreeing with red\r\n12:12 PM <~barredowl> i think\r\n12:12 PM <~barredowl> i'm really not sure.\r\n12:12 PM <~barredowl> hmm.\r\n12:14 PM <%red3> Overall, I think that this just needed a large trim to cut out the parts which didn't really contribute to the story. Although, there is a certain realistic quality to this with all of the different types of anomalies discovered within the store. If the jokes were reduced to just the good ones, that could really help this article's pacing and make everything else stand out more.\r\n12:14 PM <~barredowl> i think ultimately this is just my preferences getting in the way. down the line i could see myself enjoying this, but right here i don't.\r\n12:15 PM <+cybersqyd> this is an easy upvote for me that's only made slightly hard by a personal distaste for the author\r\n12:15 PM <BlueJones> Honestly? This is something that I do find joy in and something in here that you could use as the spark to go off and do your own thing but the comedy is rather... not in my taste if that makes sense. I'm leaving my updoot (If I recall I did updoot this) but should others point some key flaws, I will move down to the downdoot\r\n12:15 PM <~barredowl> mm, yeah.\r\n12:15 PM <+cybersqyd> it's dumb and silly and fun and that's enough for me\r\n12:16 PM <%red3> I'm at a novote for this, but I'll probably upvote since it did manage to get something out of me, which is more than most articles.\r\n","name":"SCP-4525","extension":"txt","url":"https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/4I6QV9RI/SCP-4525","modified":1595013450,"id":"4I6QV9RI","size":5334,"lines":47,"own_paste":false,"theme":"","date":1595013450}
